NOW: Pensions Authorisation
With NOW: Pensions the authorisation process will need to be repeated every 3 months when using PensionSync.
If you receive an error message when submitting via PensionSync regarding authorisation, please either click on the link in the error message, or proceed to the PensionSync SMT and select the Account -> Authorisations menu. Click on the link symbol for the scheme in question and when prompted enter your NOW: Pensions credentials that you would use on their portal to access the scheme.
Once authorised your submission should continue to be processed through PensionSync as normal.
NOW: Pensions Group
When you set up your NOW: Pensions scheme in the system, via PensionSync the Contribution Plan to must be set as the Pay Code as shown on the NOW: Pensions website.
if the Contribution Plan is incorrect in payroll, you may get an error when you submit your data via PensionSync, such as:
The submission includes a Group identifier that doesn't match what the pension provider is expecting. The pension provider NOW: Pensions refers to this as the 'Pay Code' but it might be called something else in payroll, such as Worker Group. Please ensure that the correct details have been entered for the scheme in payroll. Please note that if a user has recently added the Group on the NOW: Pensions portal, it may need to update overnight before you can submit this data.
NOW: Pensions period dates
If you get an error from your submission to NOW: Pensions regarding the period dates being submitted from your payroll platform, please contact support to assist in aligning the period dates.
Examples of errors that you might receive:
A152 Invalid submission : Bad PAYSTART in upload: expected 06/07/2019 but found 20/06/2019.
Or:
V103 PAYSTART should be the same for all rows in a given PAY CODE and ER CODE
NOW: Member Matching
With NOW: Pensions, if a member's employee ID/NI Number/Surname/Date of Birth etc don't quite match between the submission and the member record at NOW: then NOW: hold the submission, waiting your confirmation of whether it is a match or not. You will receive an email from NOW:, and a message in your PensionSync Alerts to ask you to login to the NOW: Gateway to confirm:
Your submission is being held by NOW: Pensions due to member matching issues. Please log in to the NOW:Gateway to view and resolve the member matching issues so that your submission can be processed.
When you have reviewed/resolved the matching queries on the NOW website, select to continue at the bottom of the page and then ensure that you confirm the import on the following screen to actually complete the upload.
If you resolve the matching, then the submission will complete successfully, if you reject the match at NOW: the submission will Error.
