A Leave Allowance Template will help make managing leave for employees much easier.
With leave allowance templates you can create pre-defined sets of leave accrual values which can then be applied to new and existing employees. This then allows you to bulk update leave values for employees if the leave accrual rates change rather than having to update them individually for each new employee.

Important
Any changes made to your leave allowance templates will need syncing over to your HR platform. To read further details on how to undertake this, refer to the following article.
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Leave Allowance Templates button. Here you will see a list of the existing Leave Allowance Templates and will display the number of employees that are linked to that template:
- Click the Add button.
Helpful Hint
All leave categories that automatically accrue leave are displayed in the Leave Allowances section. Enter a Template Name and then select the leave categories you want activated (i.e. you want employees to access) for this template.
PLEASE NOTE: If you select Accrue in Advance it should not be selected while using the Hours per Hour worked unit type. - Complete the following fields:
- Template name.
- Leave year should start on.
- Select the leave categories that need enabling.
- In the Leave Allowance section, select Override to determine if an allowance can be overridden or not. If this is un-ticked, the fields will be blocked and cannot be changed.
- Click Save.
Daily activities
Editing data
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Leave Allowance Template button.
- Click on the leave allowance template that needs editing.
- Edit the following fields if needed:
- Template name.
- Leave year should start on.
- Select the leave categories that need enabling.
- In the Leave Allowance section, selecting the Override option will determine if you override an allowance or not. If you leave this un-ticked, we will block you from changing these fields.
- Edit any tier settings that need changing.
- Click the Save button.
- Click the Ok button.
Data management
- Click the Business Settings menu.
- Click the Payroll Settings submenu.
- Click the Leave Allowance Template button.
- Click the Clone button.
- Edit the following fields if needed:
- Template name.
- Leave year should start on.
- Select the leave categories that need enabling.
- In the Leave Allowance section, selecting the Override option will determine if you override an allowance or not. If you leave this un-ticked, we will block you from changing these fields.
- Edit any further options that require it such as tiers.
- Click the Save button.
