Coverage
This agreement covers those franchisees listed in Schedule 1 of the agreement.
Work Types
Work types are a description of the kind of shift you are working, and are selected when you record a timesheet. The following is a list of work types employees can select on their timesheet, and the meaning of each item.
Additional available hours
This work type should be chosen by part time employees when additional hours have been made available on the roster.
Annual leave taken
Choose this work type when taking annual leave. This work type will also be used when turning an approved leave request for annual leave into a timesheet.
Blood donor leave taken
Choose this work type when donating blood. This work type will also be used when turning an approved leave request for blood donor leave into a timesheet.
Compassionate leave taken
Choose this work type when taking compassionate leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for compassionate leave into a timesheet.
Defence Force service leave taken
Choose this work type when taking defence force service leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for defence force service leave into a timesheet.
Emergency Services leave taken
Choose this work type when taking Emergency Services leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for Emergency Services leave into a timesheet.
Hours worked
Use hours worked as the work type for normal hours unless another work type is more specific
Jury service leave taken
Choose this work type when taking Jury service leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for Jury service leave into a timesheet.
Kilometres travelled
Where an employee is transferred to another location temporarily at a distance further away then their base store, claim the kilometres travelled. 1 unit = 1 kilometre.
Long service leave
Choose this work type when taking long service leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for long service service leave into a timesheet.
Natural disaster leave taken
Choose this work type when taking natural disaster leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for natural disaster leave into a timesheet.
Parental leave taken
Choose this work type when taking parental leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for parental leave into a timesheet.
Personal / carer's leave taken
Choose this work type when taking personal / carer's leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for personal / carer's leave into a timesheet.
Public holiday (day off)
Choose this work type if you are a permanent employee and have had the day or part of the day off due to a public holiday.
Public holiday not on normal day of work - full day
Choose this work type if you'd normally have the day off but the day off fell on a public holiday. Use this work type specifically for public holidays that are full a full day (not a half day).
Public holiday not on normal day of work - half day
Choose this work type if you'd normally have the day off but the day off fell on a public holiday. Use this work type specifically for public holidays that are half a day e.g. some regional public holidays may be a half day only.
Recalled to work after leaving
Choose this work type if you have gone home for the day and was recalled back to work.
Team talks
Choose this work type to record the time spent on monthly team talks.
Time in lieu leave taken
Choose this work type when taking time off in lieu. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for time in lieu into a timesheet.
Trade union training leave
Choose this work type when taking trade union training leave. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for trade union training leave into a timesheet.
Travel time
Use this work type for the time spent travelling where an employee is transferred to another location temporarily at a distance further away then their base store.
Unpaid leave of absence
Use this work type to record any unpaid leave of absence. This work type will also be used when turning a leave request for unpaid leave into a timesheet.
Shift conditions
Shift conditions are like work types, but provide more specific information on the conditions of the shift you are working. You can choose one or more shift conditions in the 'edit timesheet' screen. Shift conditions can also be set up to apply by default for a particular location so they don't need to be repeated continually e.g. stores based in areas with a district allowance.
No meal break
Choose this shift condition if your shift intentionally did not have a meal break. If this is not selected, a 30 minute break will be deducted for every 5 hours of work performed.
Normally a day off
Choose this shift condition if you are working a shift on a day that is normally your day off.
Not your base store
Choose this shift condition if you are working at a store that isn't the normal store you work at.
Performing supervisory duties
Choose this shift condition if you were performing a supervisor role.
Relieving a salaried employee
Choose this shift condition if you were filling in for an employee who is on a salary.
Replacing permanent employee on leave
Choose this shift condition if you are a casual and are replacing a permanent employee who is on leave
Training at your non-base store
Choose this shift condition if you are undertaking training at a store which is not your normal store
Training other employees
Choose this shift condition if you are a trainer who and are training other employees
Districts
WA and NT employees may be eligible for district allowances. We suggest the best practice for setting these up is to apply shift conditions relating to areas in the location settings, and have them appear in the timesheet by default when that location is selected. Example of a shift condition is 'store is located in Agnew WA'.
For Northern Territory stores, 'Northern NT' is considered to be North of the 20th parallel of South latitude. Any store south of this is called 'Southern NT'. This map shows Southern NT, the part of the Northern Territory not within the shape is considered Northern NT:
Tags
Tags are permanent conditions relating to an employees role. The following is a list of tags used and their definition:
Part time seasonal demand
Choose this employee tag if a part time employees hours have been modified due to seasonal demand e.g. Christmas period.
TIL of OT
Choose this employee tag if the employee opts to bank time off in lieu of receiving overtime
Provided with a meal during OT
Choose this employee tag if the employee generally receives a meal from the restaurant when they work overtime.
Employee required to launder uniform
Choose this employee tag if the employee has been provided with a Red Rooster uniform and is required to launder it themselves.
First aid
Choose this employee tag if the employee has a recognised first aid qualification and is engaged to perform first aid duties when required.
Public holiday on non working day as TIL
Choose this employee tag if the employee opts to bank time in lieu on regular day off which fall on a public holiday.
Public holiday on non working day as AL
Choose this employee tag if the employee opts to accrue annual leave on regular day off which fall on a public holiday.
Crew Trainer
Choose this employee tag if the employee is a Crew Grade 3 and is a recognised Crew Trainer
Vehicle over 2000cc
Choose this employee tag if the employee drives a vehicle with an engine capacity over 2000cc. If this is not selected, it will be assumed that the vehicle is under 2000cc

November 2021
The Award has been updated in line with the ATO's requirements for STP Phase 2 reporting. The reporting of gross earnings are now being disaggregated into distinguishable categories. The Pay Category payment classifications have been updated in line with the ATO specification categories found here. For further information please see our STP support article.
