It is always exciting when new employees start, but in the past, more employees also meant more paperwork for employers. With the Employee Self Setup (ESS) feature, employers can say goodbye to the paperwork associated with hiring new employees. ESS lets employers manage the onboarding process from start to finish quickly and seamlessly.
Getting started
- On your dashboard, click the Start Employee Self Setup button.
Helpful Hint
If you can only see "Add Employee," click the downward arrow button beside it. Then, click Start Employee Self Setup.
- Enter the following details for the employee:
- First Name.
- Surname.
- Email Address.
- Mobile Number.
- Qualifications Required.
- Emergency Contacts Required.
- Employee self setup notification reminder.
- Click the Save button.
Helpful Hint
Clicking the Save button will prompt an email to be sent to the employee. It will contain instructions on how they can complete onboarding.

- On your dashboard, click the downward arrow button beside "Add Employees" or "Start Employee Self Setup."
- Click Import Self Setup Employees.
Important
If you already have a file containing the details of the employees, please go straight to step 8 here.
- Click the small Export button.
- Click the Download button to download our template.
- Open the file on your computer and fill in the correct details.
- Make sure to save the changes you made.
- Go back to the payroll platform and click the Import button.
- Click the Select File button.
- Choose the file you edited.
- Click the Confirm Upload button.
- Click the OK button.
Helpful Hint
If there are any import errors will appear on this screen.
If the import is successful, it will prompt an email to be sent to the employees. The email will contain instructions on how they can complete onboarding.
Further information
You will receive an email once employees have completed their setup. From there, you will be able to review and complete the process so you are ready for your next pay run.
