You are able to bulk import Benefits in kind into opening balances. In order to do this, you can gain a template by going to the Payroll settings > Data extracts page and exporting an 'Benefits in kind' file.
Benefits in kind
The file will contain the following fields as per below. Enter in the amounts under the relevant benefits in kind category.
- External id
- Income Tax Number
- Employee Name
- Taxable -Motorcar and other related benefits
- Taxable -Petrol without car
- Taxable -Driver provided
- Taxable -Household furnishings and fittings
- Taxable -Benefits or gifts
- Taxable -Monthly bills
- Taxable -Other assets
- Taxable - Living accommodation
- Tax exempt - Dental benefit
- Tax exempt -Childcare benefit
- Tax exempt -Food and drink
- Tax exempt -Free transportation
- Tax exempt -Obligatory insurance premiums for foreign workers
- Tax exempt -Group insurance premium to cover workers in the event of an accident
- Tax exempt -Leave passage
- Tax exempt -Benefits to perform his employment duties
- Tax exempt -Discounts on goods and services
- Tax exempt -Benefits and monthly bills
- Tax exempt -Benefits for medical treatment
- Tax exempt -Petrol benefits
- Tax exempt -Other (Tax exempt)
Importing the file
Once you have added the data as needed into the template, save the file to your computer. Then go back into the business file, Import other income/benefits page, and click the 'select file' option:
Once you have selected the file, confirm the upload:
If there are any errors, the system will show the reason and you'll need to fix these in the import file before saving and re-uploading. Otherwise, it will show a 'success' status and you'll then find the benefits in kind amounts populated within each employee file > opening balance > Benefits in kind tab.
