Connecting Payroll with Telleroo

Telleroo, an e-money institution, functions like a business bank account and simplifies payroll by allowing direct transfers to employees and suppliers with a single click, enhancing security by validating bank details and preventing fraud. Its integration with payroll systems automates payments directly from the platform, eliminating the need for bank files or manual entries, reducing errors, and speeding up the payroll process.

Setting up your Telleroo integration

Connecting to Telleroo
  1. Log into your payroll platform.
  2. Click on the Business icon on the left-hand side menu.
  3. Go to Payroll Settings.
  4. Click on Business Management.
  5. Click on Integrations.
  6. On the Telleroo tile, click on Add.

  7. Click on Connect to Telleroo.

  8. You will be redirected to your Telleroo account. Enter your Telleroo log in details.
  9. Click Login.

  10. If you have 2FA set up, enter the access code and click Allow access.

  11. Click on Save to save the Telleroo integration.

Warning

In your payroll account, please ensure that you have your employee's bank account numbers and sort codes saved to be able to be included in the pay run. 

Export your payment file

Once you have connected your Telleroo account, you will need to ensure you have your employee details set up, including valid bank details and salary/wages. You can then export a payment file by following these steps.

  1. Log into your payroll platform.
  2. Click on Pay Runs on the left-hand side menu.
  3. Click on New pay run.

  4. Select the following:
    • Pay schedule
    • Pay period ending
    • Date pay run will be paid.
  5. Click on Create.

  6. Check the pay run details and click Finalise Pay Run.

  7. Click on Send Payment File, then from the dropdown menu, select Send Payment File again.

    Important

    If any of your employees have their wages paid into multiple bank accounts, each bank account will be treated as a separate payee.

  8. Click on the Validate payment button to send the payment file to Telleroo for validation.

    Important

    Once the file is validated, you will see this message Payment file has been approved by Telleroo.

  9. Click on the Confirm payment button to send the file.

Rectifying validations

If there are any validations that need to be rectified, you have two options:

  1. You can open the employee/s record and fix the problem then re-validate the payment file.
  2. You can remove the affected employee/s from the pay run and process them in a separate pay run. You will now be able to log in to Telleroo to process the payments.
Potential validation messages

When you send or upload a payment file, a validation process takes place. The validation messages you may see include:

  1. Account number and sort code do not match.
  2. Amount is not in the allowed range of 1 to 25000000 pence.
  3. Account number is the wrong length (should be 8 characters).
System events
System events have been created for Telleroo. These include:
  1. Telleroo pay run created.
  2. Telleroo pay run submitted.
