The employee search option available within the employee details page allows full access users to easily navigate between different employees and their pages to compare the settings in place. Using the search option allows you easily move between any of the pages found within one employees navigation menu to another. This feature eliminates the need to spend unnecessary time running reports to compare data, update data or going back and forth using the main left navigation menu to change employee views. This feature is not available to QuickBooks users at this time.
Below are some examples and more detail around how this feature works.
Employee Search
Once you have selected an employees file from your dashboard, the employee search option is available from all of the employee pages that is visible on the left side menu:
It will sit between the employees name and the notes option here;
You have multiple search options being the employees first name, last name, preferred name or employee ID. You can even type 1 or more letters of the employees first, last or preferred name and all matches will appear in list form in alphabetical order. It can be any letter in their name, it does have to be the first letter.
Please note that searching for the current employee will return no results. If you search for an employee already in the recently viewed list they will remain in that list in alphabetical order. Lastly, if your search entry has no matches you will see a message explaining;
How It Works
If you are on the pay run defaults page for one and employee and want to jump over to another employees pay run defaults page this can be achieved by using the search option from the pay run defaults page.
If you are on one employees pay rates page and wish to check another employees rates, again you need to use the search option from the pay rates page.
Recently Viewed
Once you start searching employees they are stored in the recently viewed list that appears once you click in the search field. This list stores up to 5 employees in alphabetical order. It includes their first and last name and employee ID;
